Laravel expert for production applications

Your Laravel application runs in production, but it is slowing down, you no longer dare to update it, or nobody fully understands it. I step in to give you a clear diagnosis, then fix what matters.

The cases I am called in for

  • Audit: state of the code, security and technical debt, with a prioritised action plan.
  • Performance: slow queries, pages that degrade, queues and jobs that pile up.
  • Version upgrades: moving to a supported version of Laravel and PHP without breaking production.
  • Architecture: splitting a growing monolith, clarifying responsibilities, preparing for load.
  • Takeover: an application left by an agency or a developer who moved on, with no documentation.

My method

  1. Read before touching

I go through the code, dependencies, configuration and the paths that bring in revenue before proposing anything.

  2. Measure and prioritise

Each finding is ranked by risk and effort. You know what is urgent, what can wait and what is not worth doing.

  3. Fix in steps

Fixes ship in small batches, reviewed and tested, so production never moves in one block.

Audit first, fixes after

When the state of the application is unclear, I recommend starting with an audit. It gives you a written basis for a decision that you can show to your management or to another provider, with no commitment to what follows.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work on an old version of Laravel?
Yes. An old version does not prevent an audit: it is part of the diagnosis, and the upgrade becomes a costed, prioritised work package.
Do development streams need to freeze during the work?
Not necessarily. I work on a dedicated branch and coordinate deliveries with your team to avoid conflicts.
